We didn't just kill one Leukaemia cell..

"No, no, no, no, no, you-you don't understand the scope of my crime. I didn't kill just one Husnock, or a hundred, or a thousand. I killed them all - all Husnock, everywhere. - Are 11,000 people worth... 15 billion? Is the love of a woman worth the destruction of an entire species?" -Kevin Uxbridge, Star Trek TNG, "The Survivors"

So, the results are in, and they are unable to detect any Leukaemia cells in the bone marrow biopsy they took from me last week.

Technically, this is know as remission. AKA Good News !

Unlike the Husnock though, the chances are about 50/50 that some of the buggers survived in the trenches, and once the coast is clear will breed like rabbits on viagra, and BOOM, Leukaemia again.

So, as planned, now that I am feeling good, it is time to mess me up again. The 1st of 3 more rounds of Chemo starts on Monday.

For 6 days, starting Monday, I will be going into Vancouver, and over 4 hours they will be filling me full of a high dose of Cytarabine (the 7 of the 7 and 3 treatment I already had), and a slew of other drugs that try and help me manage the side effects of the high dose Cytarabine.

Also this time there will be extra drugs for my eyes due to possible vision side effects, and there will be various skill testing and dexterity tests to make sure that my brain is still working correctly (another side effect).

So, after about 30 days, my numbers should be back up again, and they will do it all over again.

And again.

And then, around the beginning of November, I should start feeling ok, and they will leave me alone and see what side of the odds I turn up on. The 3 extra rounds of High Dose Chemo brings the odds up over 50% to around (only by hearsay) to around 70%.

Then they just watch me, a lot, 2 years, 5 years, and then, if there is still no sign, I am in full remission.
