In the lodge.

So, if you have been reading Sonja's blog, you know that I am in the lodge.  Things are not as good this time.  I am so fatigued.  I was hoping that my massive fatigue at the hospital was just caused by lack of food - not enough energy in.

I was hoping for that magic hamburger, just like last time, that turned me around.  Alas, the burger came, and went, but the fatigue stayed.

I can't do anything, and I just want to sleep all day.  At least I am getting nourishment here, so hopefully it will start to resolve itself.  The place is boring as heck right now, which fits my condition. 

I have been able to walk to the LBMT.  I just bundle up, and sort of zone out and let my legs just repeat the motions.  Sooner or later, I am there.  It's up hill there, so it's nice to walk back.

Tomorrow I have an appointment at 2pm, for IV Antibiotics, bloodwork, and a re-assessment if I need to continue the Antibiotics.  I am hoping not.  The next time they need me in should be for a bone marrow biopsy, so if they do that next week, I will be able to get some much needed time home.

Once they have a match, the transplant process will begin, and will dwarf the crap that has been all this last month.  I'll probably look on these days as the easy days :)

Stopped by the Lodge today for a visit but missed you...that's a good thing, I'm happy you are with family. Hope you are feeling better!! I have a few appointments this week on CP6 so I'll check and see if you're there when I'm in. Don't hesitate to call me if you need any help....I know how crazy it can get! Tomorrow is my last day of chemo for this round, thank goodness!! 12 free weeks till I start the next one! All my best to you and the family!! BE POSITIVE!!!!

I was back in at the LBMT Thursday afternoon for blood work, hickman line flushing, and news. The good news is that there seems to be a very good chance that they have found a bone marrow match for me.  Dr. Bernard, who gave me the news, said a "95% chance" - mostly to give an out, as there are a lot of things that can go wrong still. I don't know how far along they are in the process with the donor but they are looking at starting the transplant in the next 2-3 weeks, early-mid October.  I will know more shortly after a yet to be scheduled meeting with Dr. Nevill. So, if you are one of the recent people who signed up for the registry, and have been magically called as a match, you might very well be my blood brother/sister so to speak - lol. Thurdsay - My New Nemisis ?

Wow. Today was nasty. Tossed and turned most of the night, and then barfing in the morning. Nothing to come out, just there to taunt me, and let me know who's boss. Then there was the tightness of the chest, and some pain in my arm. Well, that started a flury of activity. ECG, blood work, etc. ECG looks good, there were some blood signed that the heart might have been in distress. They will be putting me on some drugs to help my heart mellow out just in case. It's all fine now, but they are being on the safe side. Tired. So very tired today. I slept most of the day, and I am only now getting into doing some stuff on the computer. Catching up with work, blog, etc. I don't have my totals for today, but the platelets and red blood cells mean I will probably be getting a transfusion tomorrow. I got to have a shower today - Yippie ! My last bag of the nasty "Red Koolaid" of death was today, so only the one Chemo drug left on tap. Still a potent brew at that, bu

2012

2012 I made it to another year ! Yay me! Another stellar delay before posting an update, but it has been a very busy time - work, Halloween, work, trip to the Island, work, Christmas, work, New Years, work. In my last update, I was off Prednisone, and now, I am off Cyclosporin. I am still on the Anti-Pneumonia, Anti-Viral, and blood pressure pills until the end of the month, and then I can stop all but the blood pressure pills. So far everything has been clear for GVHD, but my energy levels have been taking a pretty big hit. Next doctor visit is in March.
